Carriers Slash U.S. Capacity

JUNE 09, 2008 -- Domestic airline industry downsizing continued in recent weeks as several carriers announced steep capacity withdrawals, employee reductions and fleet retirements to cope with unrelenting fuel costs. Industry analysts said further reductions are likely—as are higher fares, more crowded planes and reduced schedules.

Receipts for Airline Tickets

As a reminder, priced itineraries emailed to travelers or arrangers for airline tickets purchased through Travel Services, Travelport, Centre for Travel or E-Travco are accepted as official receipts for travel expense reporting.  Travelers may print itineraries from www.Viewtrip.com by entering the passenger's last name and confirmation number found at the top of the itinerary to the right of the date.  However, we encourage use of the emailed priced itineraries as a way to conserve and "Go Green" since the Viewtrip itineraries tend to be very lengthy by including unnecessary additional information. 

Fiscal Year End Deadline for Airline Tickets Charged to the DBAF

If you are utilizing the DBAF for the payment of an airline ticket and want to be certain it will be billed in this fiscal year, please make certain those tickets are purchased no later than 13 June.  Please refer to the Purchaing Card guidelines for tickets charged to the Purchasing Card.
